Hey all!  First, thanks for being great Clan mates. Second, we could use more great Clan mates like you! Let's hear some ideas on bringing in new members and make some targets together so we can continue to grow our great Clan.  Please post your thoughts and ideas!

I'd like to know how the current membership got here? Blind search? Forum post (and which forum)? Word of mouth? In my case, it was a  post in n the forum sections of clashofclans.wikia.com

I am a friend of Prets. She helped me set up my account and told me I should start out in this clan.

I found this thread: https://forum.supercell.c ... light=angermanagemnt

However, I would say that the only reason I even opened the thread was that it said TH5-8. It looks like the text has been updated inside to say TH7-8 altho the title still says 5-8 in the forum itself. I started looking when I was a fairly new TH6 because it felt like a good time to look for a clan that was war focused and I wanted to be a part of a clan where I could actually have successful attacks. Previously I joined some random reddit open invite clan that had several TH10 at the top through TH6 and most people we were paired with had TH7 at the bottom and I couldn't 3 star anything. So my goal was to find a clan that mostly had TH6 through TH8 (with maybe a few TH9) so that I could actually participate. 90% of the recruitment thread had a min higher than TH6 so I skipped them.

With all that being said, I wanted to make 2 main points:

1) The main other place I looked was the reddit recruitment sub here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ ... ClashOfClansRecruit/ and that might be a good place to advert

2) I think we should consider actively recruiting a few TH6 that seem intelligent. I think this can be good because we can potentially pull in people when they are looking and I suspect many start looking for a "real" clan around TH6. Once someone is in a clan they like, they are unlikely to leave so why not get ahead of the curve? Most clans can't use TH6 but our heavy TH7-TH8 population means we usually have a TH6 or two at the bottom for them to attack. Also, our TH7s frequently have tons of attacks free so a few TH6 at the bottom would drop our average war weight without (imo) negatively impacting our ability to win wars. TH7 attacking TH7 is something like a 90% success rate since dragons are ez mode so we'll have plenty of spare attacks to clean up a TH6 failure or two. TH6 also very quickly turn into TH7. I'm newer than most and I'll max TH7 defenses this week and then just have a few weeks of research before going to TH8.

That's my two cents anyway

When I edited the body of the recruitment thread it did not change the title. I looked many times to find a way to get the title to change but I have not been able to figure out how it's done. If it's at all possible.

I like Vilgan's comments about TH6 members. I still do not understand how the matching process works when starting a war. I agree that players who reach TH6 start to get serious about war. TH6 you start to get some powerful troops to attack with. Maybe recruit TH6 members but let them know they will not be in war till they are almost max TH6?

I want to create a new thread in the CoC forum. I'm going to hold off though until more discussion is done about what TH levels we want to recruit.

I agree with all of the above. We are much more likely to get quality players  if we recruit them sooner in their progression.  We have always believed that it was better to teach great players than to recruit them. The problem was that we were pulling engineered clans when our spread of TH levels was greater than three. The matching system seemed to be seeing us as a lopsided or difficult to match clan and matching us with clans that were lopsided (engineered) or difficult to match (e.g. 1 x TH10, 1 x TH9, then rest TH5-8) these resulted in either easy wins or very difficult matches.  Therefore, we decided to keep to no more than three TH levels in war at a time.

I see a few ways that we could proceed.

1.  We could continue to recruit lower TH levels directly into #Angermanagemnt and change our wars so that one war a week was set aside for lower TH levels and we did not include TH9 in these wars.  I would not want to try to recruit these players unless there was a chance for them to war with us. This option would likely be fine with the TH9s, because they are always upgrading heroes and this would give them time to do so. It is less desirable for the lower players because they would only be able to war once a week.

2.  The other option that I see, and have been thinking about for a very long time, is to build a closely aligned feeder clan that could teach and mentor these lower accounts until they reach TH7 (later TH8 as we grow our own TH10s). This would solve many of these issues and give a much needed place for our mini accounts to grow and develop. It would be very similar to what our clan was originally comprised of and dedicated to. The problem is the leadership. Who would lead this clan? I do not have ability to lead a second clan. Teaching and recruiting at that level can be very time consuming. I above all, know how much work it is to keep a low level clan going.

I would love to know what others think and see if there are options that I have not even considered.

A feeder clan sounds like a ton of work and a drain on leadership/training in the main clan. A great thing if someone feels they have the bandwidth and inclination, but not sure we have excess leadership and training bandwidth atm.

What about recruiting TH6 but only having 1 or 2 TH 6 per war - whatever works well for rounding out the roster? It seemed like matchups were fine when you added me at TH6. If we have more than that, they might get rotated a bit in wars and assured participation would be a benefit of hitting TH7. I could definitely see how matching could get wonky if we had multiple TH9 as well as 3+ TH6, that's an unusual lineup.

I agree with Vilgan that we really do not have the extra leadership to support a feeder clan. The only way I could see a feeder clan working is if our current TH8 or TH9 members use it as a place to go instead of Farm & Some War when not in war due to king being down, spell factory upgrade, etc.

Tank, I'm going to start a new recruitment thread today. Do you want me to keep it to TH7 & TH8?
